This past weekend was great! Sweet Melody's open mic on Friday and a wonderful graduation party on Saturday with childhood friends...Great weather too! This week is great because, although I have two private parties on Saturday and Sunday, Friday will be off the hook! Why? Because I'm playing Talty's (se crazy photo on the left)! As you all may know, Talty's is one of my favorite places to play! It is ALWAYS OFF THE HOOK! The place is so full of friendship and fun! The owner sings and dances on chairs with me and the crowd really gets into it! I hope you can make it!

Sunday's Show at Templeton Landing was off the hook! Now I'm playing there every Thursday!

Yesterday I played Templeton Landing at the Erie Basin Marina. It looked like it would rain so I asked everyone to

think good thoughts and make a "friendship umbrella" with their minds...corny, I know...well...It rained everywhere except over my head. Dry from 3 to 6. At exactly 6 it rained and everyone helped with equipment. It was one of the best shows in years!

The crowd was so into it which, of course, fueled my desire to connect and put my heart into it. It was amazing. Everyone so appreciative, swaying to the music and smiling. What a great day!

Looks like I'm going to be doing "Thursday at Templeton Landing" every Thursday fro

m 6:00 to 9:00 PM...More of an "Adult" Thursday in the square. Come down to the waterfront and enjoy yourself...it really is amazing!

So in keeping with tradition....come down to Papa Jake's in Springville, NY for an amazing St. Patrick's Day bash! As manyof you know, I play a lot of traditional Irish music (Jigs, Reels, Sing Alongs) as well as a ton of crazy Celtic Rock! It's not too often that I come across a place that I cannot wait to play. Last week's show was incredible! It was more like a theater in the round setting. I was able to talk about music and the setting was much more intimate. People laughed, cried, talked....it is very rare that one of my shows takes on that type of atmosphere and I am so happy it did. Every person in PJs gets drink specials and prizes are given out for various categories (coolest, sexiest, etc.)!

The party should not be missed! Talty's is ALWAYS a great event for me but Friday's Pajama Jam will be especially "off the hook!"

I'll be wearing my pajamas and I look forward to looking over the crowd while singing and laughing, crying, choking and shaking because of some of the pajamas I'll see!

Hi Everyone,

I'm in Wildwood, New Jersey working on the Jersey Shore. I've been here 10 days...It's pretty amazing here let me tell you...I'll play here more during the summer...They get over 500,000 people on this Boardwalk! The shows here went amazing...I played three different venues and all three places offered me jobs throughout the summer. One place, The Deck at Holly Beach offred me Friday, Saturday and Sunday through the whole summer! I really have to decide if I want to be away from Buffalo for the summer season....I would miss you all terribly! Being away for ten days seems like I've been gone for as month...It's weird...

This is wonderful! : I just got a gig at one of the biggest and best multi-million club complexes in Wildwood, NJ! I will play The Deck at Holly Beach for Cinco de Mayo (May 5)! I have an afternoon show from 4-7 and the evening show from 9-12! This is amazing! I am very fortunate...If this goes well I will have the opportunity to play all summer at The Deck and two other establishments as well as some of the Do Wop motels (Rat Pack like cool places).

After last week's schedule of playing Jim Fingerlow's new place, Richard's and doing the Mellisa's Angels benefit on Sunday, I'm gearing up to play my HUGE SOUTH BUFFALO WEEKEND! Doc Andy's Day for Kids Update

This was posted by Keith Morgan the manager for the Buffalo Brew Pub in the Brew Pub newsletter: Sunday February 28th we held our 16th annual Dr Andy's Day for Kids and thanks to everyone who made it an outstanding success . The basket auction as usual was centered around over 80 gorgeous baskets made by the nursing staff of St Joe's, Sister's and Kenmore Mercy as well as some local merchants. SIlent auctions, raffles, 50-50's, doctors tips, personnel and corporate donations, profits from food and beverage, Gregg Sansone donated his fee and tips bringing our total raised to $28,375 which will be applied toward purchasing a $40,000 giraffe bed!

Tuesday is my HUGE Billy Joel/Elton John Tribute!

Tuesday night the long awaited return of Billy Joel and Elton John is happening at HSBC Arena. As many of you know, the previous concert(s) were canceled due to Joel's illness. Tuesday, March 9 the concert will boom the arena! I'm happy to say that right after the concert (at about 10:00 pm) I will be doing a Billy Joel/Elton John tribute at Benchwarmers right next to the arena!

I will perform all the Billy/Elton hits I can and maintain the high everyone will be feeling right after a Joel/John concert! So come down to Benchwarmers right after the concert on Tuesday, March 9. Even if you don't go to the show, come to mine! You'll have a great time singing along to songs like Piano Man and Crocodile Rock. I can't wait! Benchwarmers is a wonderful downtown bar with an awesome stage, great food and plenty of space. It fits right into the Cobblestone District in Buffalo. If you haven't seen my Billy Joel/Elton John tribute now is the time to catch it. You'll love it!

When my buddy Freddy Zillner first called me and told me he was managing a place called Chandy's Lounge I thought it sounded like just another small pub and all that goes along with that. How wrong I was! Fred has been my friend since we were kids so when he asked me to play there I told him I would.

Chandy's has turned out to be a real gem. The stage area is wonderful and the bar area is big enough to accommodate a pretty nice sized crowd. Last night I played a Wednesday night gig. It went great! Why? The owner Joe Gargano, Freddy and the crew loved what was going on and the patrons had a ball...all on a Wednesday night! Now I'm playing there on St. Patty's day! How cool is that?If you have a chance check out Chandy's. Better yet, come to one of my shows there!

This past week was wonderful. The benefit I played for my friend Nancy Delmonte raised over $10,000 for her and breast cancer! How wonderful! This week is very busy....It's the busiest I will be until the summer...Here is the schedule:

The 16th annual Doc's Day is an amazing event where doctors tend bar, donate all the tips, and a couple hundred people show up to support Sisters Hospital Special Care Nursery- a neonatal special care unit that helps the tiniest of patients. It is amazing and I know you would love it! Besides, there are incredible auctions, numerous 50/50 drawings...everything you could imagine. I hope to see some of you there.)

Hi Everyone!

This is the week that you eat chocolate and buy cards...even for yourself! Sunday is St. Valentine's Day and for many people it is a great time to show love and affection to those you care about. This week is pretty busy for me because of that. I play at a new place, The Somerville Sports Bar in Tonawanda on "hump day" Wednesday. I could REALLY use any support. Friday is a great day....First I play Holimont Ski Resort and then it's off to Talty's for a mamoth Valentine's Day party! It should be amazing! Saturday I return to the beautiful Forestview on Transit in Depew...Their food is great and they serve it 24 hours a day! Go figure!

Last week at the Forestview and especially Griffin's the heat was on although it was frigid outside! This week is going to be even better! I play a brand new venue for me called Chandy's Lounge in Hamburg, NY. I love the opportunity to play my old stomping grounds, the Southtowns again! What makes it great is that the man who runs the Wednesday night bash is my adopted brother, Fred Zillner. He has a way with bars and people...you will absolutely LOVE this place! So come out of the cold and celebrate "Hump Day" with me...forget the humdrum of the week and sing and party with me!

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Mine was filled with family and laughter. I truly am blessed. This week I play Niagara Falls Country Club for New Year's Eve but I have a great gig on Wednesday and Saturday. I play a new bar on Wednesday...It's called Bar Louie and it is fantastic! It's located at the Galleria Mall and boasts a wonderful bar and classy atmosphere. The appetizers are half price, there are drink specials and the music is pretty darned good! Saturday I am back at Tony Rome's and it is going to rock. So bring in the new year early at Bar Louie this Wednesday and celebrate the first Saturday of 2010 at Tony Rome's!

I must tell everyone that the benefit for my dear friend Ray Burke went extremely well! Many of you asked about Ray and/or showed up at the benefit. Ray sure has a lot of people who love him! This week I return to Tony Rome's and I am having a very big Christmas party. There are so many of you that don't come to my shows anymore...I feel sad about that but I'm sure you are busy and have other things to do with your lives. If you don't get a chance to come to my party I hope you can make my after Christmas party at Talty's on December 26 or any other show during the new year.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for the support and kindness you have shown me. Because of YOU I won Solo Artist of the Year at the Buffalo Music Awards, Thursday, November 19. I cannot thank you enough for coming to shows, singing, dancing and smiling. Friends and family are the most important thing in life and you all constantly take my breath away. I must congratulate all the nominees and I truly am indebted to one of my dearest friends, Lana Hergert the extraordinary lead singer of Black Widow. She supported me with love and kindness and I will forever hold a place for her in my heart.. Again, because of you all, I won the award for the fifth year in a row. That has never been done. I am touched! I vow to work just as hard and go full steam ahead in the upcoming year. I truly hope to see you at a show or two.

The Buffalo Music Awards and a nice show

Well gang, the Buffalo Music Awards are in two days...Lots of people and bands are nominated. I certainly wish all the nominees all the best. For those of you wishing to go, the cost at the door is $5.00. It is at Club Paradise in Hamburg, NY. There are a ton of great bands so the $5.00 is well worth it. The show and ceremony starts at 8:00. The doors open at 7:30.

I play at the Newcomb-Long Post on Rt. 5 in Derby this Friday. Saturday is a private show.

People are great and a couple awesome shows!

I just wanted to tell you all how people can touch your life. My son, Griffin and I were driving from Oklahoma to Buffalo, the car we were driving was not in the greatest shape. While driving we replaced the battery. We got to Marshfield, Missouri and our car broke down (alternator died)! We were stranded and the jeep was... towed to Auto Zone. Caleb Atkeson and Shelby Richardson worked for HOURS (even after they punched out) to install the alternator. They would not take money and said they just wanted to get us home. They are two of the kindest people I have EVER met. They did HUNDREDS of dollars work for free. Because of them Griffin and I made it home. They are amazing. Really makes you believe in the kindness of others!

Halloween weekend at Talty's and Cobber's was off the hook last week. I can't tell you how fun it was! I was a Beatle from Sgt. Pepper!

Happy Halloween....Booooo!

Hi,

I just wanted to tell you all that I just came back from Wildwood Crest, New Jersey for a private show and it was AMAZING! The people were so wonderful and they paid for lodging, food, gas and fun! I was right on the boardwalk. The town is incredible and the place that I was put up in is fashioned after a "Rat Pack" kind of theme...You know, early 1950's cool...The hotel had $21,000,000 sunk into it...The owner heard me play and hired me for Kentucky Derby weekend! Another owner of three more places heard me and is hiring me as well! That's pretty awesome! I guess this New Jersey resort town never had a taste of Buffalo before! LOL! I'll keep you posted!

This week is going to be fantastic! It's Halloween weekend and the parties I am having will be second to none! First I start off with Sippy's on Thursday: Sippy's. 3455 Genesee St., Elma. 631-0308. Thursday, Oct. 29 @ 9:00 pm. It' s such a great time. Try and make this weekly gig. I could use the support.

Great Benefit and a New Venue

Hi,

This past week was great! Crazy Jake's on Friday went really well. A lot of fun but, then again, I always have fun there. Saturday was wonderful. I did a benefit for my friend Patty's father, Dan Woods, who lost his home and almost his life in the floods from August 9. A ton of people showed up and my friends Randy Milligan and Mike Skowronski from Herd of Buffalo played an awesome acoustic set! A good amount of funds were raised...Gotta pay it forward!

This week I start at a new place called Sippy's. It is an awesome little place located on Genesee at Union Rd. I will be playing there every Thursday. It's a great setting and they LOVE all kinds of music especially rock and country...Check it out! I could use the support! I also have some more private shows this week. That is why Thursday is the only open day.

Labor Day weekend was pretty busy for me because of private shows and stuff. I hope your weekend was great! If you live in WNY we have summer for the first time! It has been the worst summer in 67 years...Well, now it's great! I am going on retreat until Thursday but Friday and Saturday are my two favorite venues!

The show at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio was incredible. I played the show with the Pyramid Dance Band and Jack Civiletto. I cannot tell you how honored I was and how fun it was to perform for so many people. I met lots of stars and they really enjoyed the show! The next couple weeks will be be slow for you because I play a private show on Friday and Saturday. Next week I'm on vacation but I will play Crazy Jake's and Talty's next weekend. The Pro Football Hall of Fame and More!

The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio

Hi All,

This week is going to be an amazing ride! I had five shows but had to cancel one because it would have been too hard for me. What is amazing news is that on Saturday I am being brought up to Canton, Ohio to play for Ralph Wilson after he is inducted into the National Football Hall of Fame! This one of the biggest shows of my life. I am traveling with two other acts, The Pyramid Dance Band and Jack Civaletto. We have all performed for Ralph Wilson before at the stadium but this is pretty special and VERY BIG! There will be hundreds of other Hall of Famers there and I'll try to get photos. In any case, I'm pretty excited. Friday I play the Buffalo Launch Club on Grand Island. Many of you have seen me play there in the past. It's quite beautiful. Sunday I'm at the Sunset Grille in Wilson. That place is so much fun and right in the marina.

Holy smokes! What a week this will be! The Canal Fest 2009 is upon us. Great shows and awesome venues having bands all week! Monday I will open up an all week long music fest at Crazy Jake's. Coldest winter I ever had was the summer I spent in Buffalo!

Making angels in the snow in July? For those of you who do NOT live in Buffalo, NY you might be interested in learning that we have had some pretty damn cold weather here! Lows in the 50s and highs around 68...what the heck? Where is summer? Well, I'll tell you summer is what we make it...so check out one of my shows and I'll try to heat things up! Last week at Crazy Jake's I played to about 300 people...It was amazing! Sunset Grille in Wilson went on for six hours and everyone was so glad to see me back from surgery...It really blew me away!

This week will be fantastic because I return to two places that I have not played in a while because of the back thing...The Lighthouse and Cobber's. The Lighthouse, owned by Dave and Carol Miller is throwing a HUGE event this Friday. Dave and Carol were part of my benefit and are tremendous people. If you have never been to Olcott or their place, check it out...it rocks!

I also play the awesome Cobber'son Saturday. It is right on Seneca St. in Elma. They have a full indoor golf course and you can play till 1:00 am! It's crazy!

I also play on Monday at Crazy Jake's because it is the beginning of Canal Fest and it's going to be wild!!!

Holy Smokes! The Sun is Out!

For those of you who live in Western New York you know how wonderful those words are..."The sun is out!" Ah, yes, perhaps summer will start now. I went for a ride on my motorcycle yesterday (my surgeon gave me the ok) and, although it was awesome to get out in the sun with the wind in my face, I realize the jostling and bumps may have been too much. IF I ride it again I will wear my back brace...sigh! lol

This weekend will be pretty good: Friday at Crazy Jake's, Saturday is a graduation party in Orchard Park and Sunday I return to the beautiful Sunset Grille in Wilson, NY.

Well, I have been trying to get back to some type of normal life after my surgery...Yikes! It's a long process! Hey, this past week group member Donna Yeager celebrated her birthday! I saw her and two ther friends at Crazy Jake's on Thursday. She is such a good lady! Wish her well!

Speaking of Crazy Jake's...I play there this Thursday and it will be a great time as usual. The big deal is my 4th of July party this Friday at Talty's! It is the day before Independence Day so you can start the festivities off right! It really will be an amazing time! I hope you can make it.

What a Show!!!

Dear Group,

All I can say about Saturday at Talty's is WOW! So many of you showed up and had a wonderful time with me. Maria, Lynn, Donna, Cyndy and more showed up to fill the bar. I was moved beyond words. I worked some new old songs and some new new songs and mixed it up! From Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" to the Rolling Stones "Mother's Little Helper" I jammed the night away! My friends Bobby Donovan, Shawn Coady and Ray Burke came up and sang solos and did background vocals. I cannot explain to you how great it was! It was one of the finest times in my life as a performer! Thank you all for making my millenium!

I play a number of private shows this week and frankly I don't know if I can. The one show I will do is Thursday at Crazy Jake's. I can't wait to play and it's an early show (8:00 P.M.). Come out and enjoy "Thursday at the Canal" with me! Here is the info on it:

Hi Everyone,

I can't believe it's time but here we are...two months after my surgery and I will be playing Talty's this Saturday night! There are some changes to be made...I won't carry ANYTHING and I probably won't go so crazy when I play. But play I will! It is a long road...I'm still in therapy and wear my brace a lot. I'll probably wear it Saturday so don't think I'm wearing a corset! So PLEASE, think about coming...so many of you have been so beautiful to me over the past months...let me entertain you! I'm also going to have a summer party for you all. I will supply everything, including food and music! I'll keep you posted. So here's the information about Saturday...I am so eager and excited to play again!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi All,

I just wanted to wish all of you who are mothers a very happy Mother's Day! Also, if you're not a mom, happy Mother's Day to your moms! Things are going well...slow but sure. I am amazed at how tired I get. I had my four week check up and my surgeon said I was doing very well. I'm walking better and I am able to drive again.

My son stayed with me for three weeks and that was wonderful! He really took care of me (poor kid). I asked the doctor when he thought I might be able to play again and told me to play it by ear. I start aquatic therapy this week and we'll see how I feel at the end of the month.

I'll keep you posted...what I do know is when I do feel well enough to perform it is going to be a HUGE party!

Just Checking In

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to check in with you all and tell you that I coming along. Monday will be two weeks since my surgery. It is an extremely slow process. I guess the hard thing is that I really cannot do anything for myself yet. My son is here from Oklahoma for two more weeks and that is wonderful. I have no idea when I will return back to work but I'm itching to play!

Hi,

Just wanted to check in with you all. My surgery is tomorrow...I have to be at the hospital at 6:00 AM! Everyone has been so kind with their prayers and such. Thank you once again. Please keep my friend Nicole Manges' friend, Simon in your prayers. He has a rare form of Leukemia and he is fighting for his life...He's in first grade. I'll keep you posted. My friend Andrea Straw's husband Mike is still waiting for a lung transplant and things have been brutal so please keep him in your thoughts. And lastly, Renee Dolinar, a very dear friend is going through a horrible time with her father being so ill. He doesn't have much more time.

So Easter is a time to reflect and take stock. If you will. I ask that you pray for my friends...pray for your continued happiness and health. Please know I am doing that for all of you! I'll keep you posted as to my progress. I'll be up and running (so to speak) in no time!

I just wanted you to know that, next to my son being born, Sunday, March 29 was the greatest day of my life! The benefit that was given for me touched my heart in ways that I cannot describe to you. So many of my Yahoo group site came out and many of you broke your back for me. Ed and Diane Strawbrich were there along with the incredible Maria (Hejna) Garrity. Maria and her little group made over 30 baskets for the Chinese auction. Please check the amazing photos she took of the event on this site...I can never thank you enough Maria. Busted Stuff, the Mick Hayes Band, Only Humen and Black Widow absolutely rocked the house! Many people came up and said it was, by far, the best benefit they ever attended. It was more like a benefit concert with great friends there! No one wanted the party to end. I have cried so much because of the acts of kindness and generosity. People came from everywhere and were there to lend a hand. When I got up to speak I could not stop crying. Well over 300 people showed up and you could feel the presence of God in the room. Lisa, Nicole, Renee D., Renee K., Bob, Ray, Dennis, Tom W., Gina, Dawn H., Madonna, Dave, Harry, Charlie H., Charle W., Maria, Lynn, Cindy, Jay S....all the restaurants and places of business that gave their support and contributions and ALL the people that have prayed and wished me well, are etched in my heart forever.

I will be out of things for a couple months at least. My surgery is Monday, April 6. I will make postings every week just to let you all know how things are going and when I will be back.

Monday Big Words Update! Sansone Benefit Aftermath/April Foolfest 2 THIS WEDNESDAY/Busted Stuff Deserves An Apology…

The Gregg Sansonne ‘We’ve Got Your Back’ Benefit at the Colonel Weber Post in Lackawanna yesterday was a huge, huge success! Well over 400 people bought tickets and came out in droves to support Gregg before his upcoming surgery fundraiser. Busted Stuff, The Mick Hayes Band, Only Humen (with a two song cameo from Michael Bly) and Black Widow rocked the crowd down to the foundations with an entire day of great music and multiple sponsors contributed their time, food, gift certificates and other goods and services in support of Gregg’s procedure. Thanks (personally) to Mazia’s Pizza in Clarence, Desiderio’s on Broadway, Salon On The Avenue in Lancaster, and Don’s Atomic Comics(!) in Depew for helping me to bring something to the table from my end of the benefit.
I also had a real blast emceeing the benefit! I did so well with the audience that one of the organizers (who runs a non-profit organization for kids) asked if I’d emcee for one of their events because she liked my quirky, irreverent hosting style. For my first time doing this sort of thing, I’m just glad I didn’t blow it. You can judge for yourself later this week, though, because the ENTIRE BENEFIT was recorded directly from their sound board for Think Twice Radio! If I can ever get a day or an evening off to visit the studio this week, I’ll be dropping off a boat load of new shows that are well overdue for Big Words Radio as well as the Monsters Of Verse Project site. I’ll keep you posted when they’re posted.

Moving on, April Foolfest 2 is going down THIS WEDNESDAY starting at 7 p.m. at Desiderio’s on Broadway. This Wednesday will be the 2 year anniversary of the original April Foolfest book launch for If They Can’t Take A Joke. Michael Bly performed and I popped the Big Question to Lindsay. Lindsay’s birthday is this week, we love Desiderio’s, Lenny Revell will be performing, and I’ll be reading selections from Slapstick & Superego. Not to mention the fact that the event is FREE! How many more reasons could you need to come out and have a great time? This show is going to be a knockout (we’ll be recording this one as well), so suit up, drive out and meet us at Desiderio’s on the corner of Broadway and Bowen!

The early questionaire responses have voted unanimously for a late summer book launch at Desiderio’s. I’ll be locking down a date this week, and factoring in all the responses, I’m going to shoot for an early August event on either a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening. Once it’s confirmed, I’ll let you know.
A new issue of Night Life hit’s the stands today with Part Two of ‘A Preacher, A Rabbi & A Minister Walk Into A Bank…’ pt. 2 of 2, a religious lambast going all the way back to First Person, Last Straw.

And finally, I’d like to thank Dave from the Buffalo super-duo Busted Stuff. A few years ago, we had a misunderstanding that I took public. Dave was enough of a gentleman to speak to me calmly and collectively about what happened and we shook hands and moved forward. In addition, the band sounded about 300% better than when I heard them two years prior when they played the benefit and they were pretty damned good to begin with. So thank you, Dave. I’m glad we could settle our differences and make some plans for the future. The up side of the reconciliation means that you can look forward to hearing Busted Stuff play on Big Words Radio some time down the road. It should be a hell of a show.

The Last Show Before Surgery and a HUGE Benefit!

I cannot believe all that is happening! I hope you all have the opportunity to come to Talty's this Friday at 9:30. This will be my last performance for many months. I know it is going to be an incredible time. As my surgery approaches I witness the outpouring of kindness and love shown by people like Renee Dolinar, Maria Garrity and her group, Nicole Manges, Lisa Santora...so many others. The benefit for me on Sunday is almost too much to fathom. Black Widow, Busted Stuff, The Mick Hayes Band and Only Humen are performing. Maria and friends have sold hundreds of dollars worth of tickets and made close to 30 baskets for the Chinese auction. The Guitar Factory donated and electric guitar signed by the Goo Goo Dolls! People have contacted me from all over the nation. I feel undeserving. I will make every attempt to "Pay it Forward" to all. I will keep in touch during the next couple of months. This will give time to reflect and heal. I love you all and know how grateful I am to have the opportunity to be your friend.

St. Patty's Day Weekend!

Man...I'm getting filled with the Irish spirit...Maybe because my second mother is so darned Irish that it rubbed off on me! Last Saturday at Shenannigan's was absolutely crazy! It was a fun time at a new Irish pub!

This week is really going to be off the hook. If you live in Western New York, or ever have in the past, then you know how St. Patrick's Day is here! It is not just a day...It is a week long festival! Friday and Saturday will be no exception. I will play the Trackside in Alden for a St. Patty's happy hour and then go to Griffin's Irish Pub in South Buffalo. Most of you know that the shows at Griffin's are amazing! What makes this night so special is that it's GRIFFIN"S AND IT'S OUR ST. PATTY'S DAY PARTY!!! Wear some green and come on down because I will be alpying a bunch of tradional Irish music and Celtic Rock! Saturday at Gonzo's in Lockport is their big event...A HUGE St. Patty's day party!

Two Cool Places and a Lot of Fun!

Hi Gang!

Last week was awesome but pretty darn tiring! I did two shows on Friday and then another on Saturday...Boy, was I aching on Sunday!

This week is going to be pretty cool...Friday I play Salvatore's Italian Gardens for the first time in about seven years. It really has changed. They're bringing in a younger crowd and it really is beautiful there. Saturday I play the brand new, Shenannigan's and it's owned by my great buddy direct from Ireland, Abban Westby. Shenannigan's is a beautiful Irish pub that boasts a warm atmosphere, a great bar and awesome food (of course the music isn't bad).

Hi, Sorry for getting back with you in the middle of the week. Some of our group members are going through some difficult times. Please keep Diane and Ed Strawbrich, and their family, in your prayers. There has been some illness and could use our thoughts, prayers and support. My dear friend, Renee Dolinar is going through one of the hardest times in her life with a very serious illness...Please, if you pray, pray for her. As I grunt and groan to my shows I start to smile because I know how fun it will be this Friday, Feb. 13 at Talty's. It is going to be a great night! I may not play until June (if that) so dust off the dancing shoes and come on down!

Damn! It's Cold!

Hi All,

This past week was pretty fun and last week was insane at Talty's! I trust all of you who live in the Western New York area or on the Northern East Coast are staying warm...This is brutal. To those of you who live in Florida (you know who you are) I want to kick you in the pants!

This week is pretty awesome because I play at one of my favorite places, Griffin's Irish Pub in South Buffalo on Friday. Saturday I play at the beautiful Caffe Expresso in Williamsville. I really need a great turnout there so if you live near Williamsville (or even if you don't) come down to this awesome place and enjoy the music. I'll have special guests and many surprises.

I just want you to know (and I will keep you posted) that soon I am having major back surgery. I will be out of commission for three months. Because of this my upcoming shows will be precious to me. I will play my heart out so you don't forget me... :-) I thank God I have friends like you in my life. Thank you for all that you do.

Two Awesome Places and, Man, is it Cold!

Hi Everyone!

I am just coming off of a horrible cold so it will be great to play at two of my favorite places to play this week: Tony Rome's and Talty's!

I play at the awesome North towns restaurant Crazy Jake's this Thursday and Friday I'm at Tony Rome's. Tony Rome's in West Seneca is big and fun as hell. Most of you know what my shows are like at Tony Rome's...Try not to miss it! It's a lot of fun.

Saturday is Talty's. When I played last month employees were standing on radiators and the whole crowd was singing! Come down South Park Ave. this Saturday and check out the show!

2009 Here We Come!

Here I am playing at Crazy Jake's on New Year's Eve. My buddy Bobby Donovan joined me for a couple songs! It was a blast!

I hope you all had a wonderful, safe New Year's! Mine was amazing! Crazy Jake's had over 5,000 people come in through the door that evening! I played for almost six hours! Quite fun. I can't believe it's 2009 already! Where does the time go?

This week is pretty great because I play some really cool events...Wednesday I do a Jazz gig with my great friend Rich Kallay. I used to play with him as a duo (we even got the award for Best Small Jazz Group for the now defunct Buffalo People's Choice Music Awards). In addition to playing Crazy Jake's on Thursday, I am playing the Big Tree Inn in Orchard Park on Friday. That is an awesome place and where I grew up so a bunch of people will be there! I hope you can make it to this great little landmark!

Happy New Year!

I trust everyone had a wonderful Christmas (if that's what you celebrate) and that you spent time with family and friends. I must tell you that the Christmas party at Talty's was unbelievable! Speaking of unbelievable, my New Year's Eve show is going to be out of control! I will play at Crazy Jake's and they are expecting a record amount of people! What makes this party so special is that Crazy Jake's is right on the canal...I start playing at 9:00 p.m. and then at midnight fireworks go off and a huge ball drops! I will continue to play because CJ's has an all night license...Breakfast will be served at 5:00 a.m.! I will be playing a marathon!

Also, Friday I return to the Sonoma Grille on Main St. in Snyder! It's a beautiful place! Check it out!

Come to my HUGE Christmas Party!

Hi All,

This Friday at Talty's on South Park in South Buffalo I am having my HUGE Christmas party! There will be a ton of people and we are really going to bring the Christmas Spirit in a big way. Guest performers and awesome holiday cheer! Really try to make it because it will be a night to remember! This is such an incredible time of year. Even people that don't believe in any type of God somehow have more of a feeling of brotherhood and cheer. For me, the holiday not only represents the birth of Christ but family, cookies, warmth and smiles on little children. PLEASE come to Talty's...It will be amazing.

Also, if you want to hear me do some great Jazz, I am playing a Jazz show with Buffalo guitarist Rich Kallay on Wednesday. It is an early show from 8 to 11. Of course Crazy Jake's in North Tonawanda will be fun. Talty's is Friday and Gonzo's is Saturday. Then I am off for two weekends because Christmas is so close to the first weekend and New Years is so close to the next.

Chilly but the holiday season warms us up!

Well this past week was the busiest I've been in a long time! Five shows! Playing a great show at Caffe Expresso, a Cellino and Barnes Christmas party Crazy Jakes, Tony Rome's and a VFW post can really make a guy beat! It was awesome! Justin Kubiak from Bareback Jack and Michael Bly joined me at Tony Rome's for a great show and a lot of joking around!

This week I play at a brand new place...Jimmy's on Elmwood. I've known Jimmy for a number of years and he has really turned the old Pierce Arrow into a wonderful place to party...Jimmy is having his Christmas party Saturday night. There will be food and drink specials and a bunch of my family is coming out! Friday I return to Griffin's in South Buffalo! Another great Christmas party at one of my favorite places to play! You'll love it!

Thanksgiving really starts off the holiday season for all of us. It is a time to reflect, enjoy and laugh. There is so much I am grateful for. Family, friends, the gift of music...warmth. I am so very grateful to all of you who consistently attend my shows and support me. More so, I am blessed to know it is music that brought us to know one another. So, I am going to eat turkey with my family and laugh my butt off. I'm taking the weekend off which is a treat for me. Gotta rest up for next week though...I have five shows!

The 2008 Buffalo Music Awards

Hi Everyone,

I cannot tell you how thankful I am to all of you who voted for me and supported me through the year. Last night (November 20, 2008) I am proud to say I won Solo Artist of the Year from the Buffalo Music Awards. This is my fourth year in a row that I received this honor. So many people have come up to me this year and told me how happy and moved they are at my shows. I can't believe I get money for that. Over the summer I had a show in Fredonia, New York. My van was totaled on the way to the show. Normally I would have given up and gone home. Instead, one of my dear friends, who loves my music, told me that I was not going to give up and insisted I play. I asked him how the heck would I get all my equipment there. He proceeded to cram ALL my gear into his Ford Taurus and drive me the hour to the show! That is what I mean by support and love! Thank you all so much for all you do for me! I will forever be grateful.

Sorry I didn't get to you all last week. I have been really sick (again). I'm getting better. It was good to see Maria Garrity and friends at Crazy Jake's last Thursday! What a blast!

This week is the Buffalo Music Awards so it will be great to see some dear friends in the music business that I only really see once a year because of busy schedules. The next two weeks will be very slow. This Saturday I play an open party at the Angola Moose and next Wednesday (the night before Thanksgiving) I play my annual Thanksgiving bash at the Buffalo Brew Pub. I'm taking the weekend after Thanks giving Off so you won't hear from me until two weeks. Have an incredible, safe, love filled Thanksgiving. Stop out and see me this week. Last night was pretty amazing. Whether you are a Republican, Democrat or Independent, last night showed to be pretty amazing. Thousands of people filled the streets around the world. Unheard of really.

Happy Halloween!

Well it's that time of year again! This weekend is Halloween and I'm playing two HUGE Halloween parties! Friday's show at Crazy Jake's is massive with a incredible heated tent in back, a huge heated covered deck with bar and inside is huge as well. It is a heaven and hell theme...People will dress up as heavinly things inside and outside will be...well, hell! There will be a bunch that will just plain dress up so don't be bashful!

Saturday's show at the Track Side Grille in Alden will be fantastic too. Prizes and lots of Halloween antics (as well as awesome music)! The Track Side is brand new, they've been open a month and it is taking off like wildfire! You'll love the dance floor and stage. Plenty of room and an awesome bar!

Sorry I've waited this late to post anything but I have terrible bronchitis and I've been down for the count. I just wanted you to know that the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame is having the Induction Gala at the Tralf tonight. It is amazing with incredible performances and a wonderful class of talented inductees. This is what the BMHOF web site has posted:

The Fall Bash!

Hey! As many of you know, Lisa and I are doing great and we wanted to have a Fall party! What better place than Talty's! It is absolutely a great time and I would love for you to join Lisa and I with family and friends at my favorite little club for a wonderful, crazy, fall bash!

Last week the Lighthouse and GDI Countryside Inn went very well but this week will be great! Thursday night @ 7:00 I play at Crazy Jake's in North Tonawanda. They have sunk at least $500,000 into this place and their opening party will be awesome. It's early too (7 to 10)!

Friday I do a happy hour at 41 West in Fredonia. If you're in the area check it out. The real big party is Saturday at Talty's! The Talty's parties are amazing and this week it's extra special because my girlfriend Lisa and I are having the Fall Bash together. We want all our friends to come out and let their hair down for a while!

No, I haven't fell off the face of the earth!

I was talking to my good friend, Ed Strawbrich Tuesday night and he asked me if I was still playing out! I told him yes and realized I probably should have kept you all in the loop as to my whereabouts. Two weeks ago I had private gigs so I did not post anything. I also got rid of my MySpace site. It was time. I feel that MySpace became something that it wasn't intended to be. Don't get me wrong, if you have a MySpace site more power to you. I just feel that if people want to know about my shows or contact me they can either come here or to greggsansone.com.

Last weekend I had off. I went to Toronto with Lisa and it was amazing! The Toronto Film Festival was going and we saw a musical as well as some stand up at Yuk-Yuks!

OK, enough of what I have been up to. Here are my shows for the weekend. By the way, I sure would love it if you could come out to Alden at the GDI Countryside Inn on Saturday. It is really great! Also, next Thursday (9/18), I am playing at Crazy Jake's in North Tonawanda. It is right over the canal and the owners sunk about $500,000 into this amazing place. It is absolutely incredible! I'm doing their grand opening party from 7 to 10. Here's the skinny:

I am a bit taken aback by the example of true love and friendship shown by all my friends. I'm somewhat embarrassed by my initial reaction to some foolish person's letter. Sorry for overreacting. I will continue to be the best dad I can be and try to do the best that I can do music wise. I cannot ever thank you all enough. Please forgive me for being so hasty.

By the way, the writer of the terrible letter wrote again. He truly despises me and still feels that I am responsible for my son's actions as well as quite a terrible person. You all fill my heart. I must always remember that I cannot please everyone all the time. Thanks for letting me touch your lives!

Hello,

I made a posting earlier today remarking that my son was here and how wonderful it is to be with him. I posted it here and on www.greggsansone.com. I received the most cruel letter I have ever received in my life. It was not signed and it told me that I was responsible for my son's relapse and horrible life threatening problems. This is what it said:

"It's good to read that your son is OK. Being away from you is probably the best thing for him. In your last post that mentioned him, I was astounded how you attributed his substance abuse and personal problems to fate and/or God's will. It's not surprising that it would never occur to you that having a father who is a self-centered mono-maniac who only cares about himself and receiving the adulation of audiences to the extent of neglecting his family to achieve that, just might be the ACTUAL source of his difficulties.
Keep up the spiritual and emotional growth Gregg!"

I did not attribute my son's drug abuse to God's will and/or fate. Whoever posted this you got your wish. I am destroyed. I cannot believe that I hurt a person so much that he/she would stoop so low. Anyone that knows me knows the clear truth. I am a great father and i would die for my son.

I quit. I will no longer be in the public eye.

The Summer Keeps Rolling On!

Hi,

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far. I can't believe that it will be the first of August this weekend! Where does the time go? For those of you who were at the Talty's show recently you saw how incredibly wild and fun it gets there! I have to thank my friend Renee for buying four sheet pizzas for the crowd! That was wonderful! The music was explosive and it was really amazing to see so many people show up at a bar not on the water. Usually during the summer in Buffalo people don't go into taverns that are not on the water or that don't have an awesome patio. That wasn't the case and I really appreciate
that. Check out the photos from the show on this site in the photo section.

Good news, my son is up for a little over a week and it amazing spending some wonderful family time with him! He looks great!

Gregg's Big Summer Bash!

Well, this week was amazing! Five shows and my feet hurt! ;-) Anyway, the new club, MaGavin's on Broadway in Alden, NY was a great time. I'll be playing there throughout the year so you'll get a chance to see the place. You'll love it!

This Friday I'm having a big SUMMER BASH at Talty's! Really try to make it if you're in town. The place is always incredible when I'm there. My friend Renee is supplying pizza and I'll supply the party and music! Munchies will be provided and feel free to bring some of your own. I figured I would have my summer party at Talty's because I work EVERY weekend. I absolutely love playing Talty's so it worked out to be a good mix.

Jack Divine's is going great every Thursday after the Square on Chippewa and this Saturday is Christmas in July at Bart's Cove Marina on Rt. 5 in Dunkirk. That'll be a blast too. If any of you are in Buffalo this weekend the Italian Heritage Festival is from Friday to Sunday. I am playing Sunday from 5:15 to 7:30 p.m. Check it out and eat a nice cannoli!

Well, I worked on 4th of July but I was able to spend time with my family first and then have some friends come to my 4th of July show. Niagara Falls was beautiful and the fireworks over the Falls were spectacular! I really hope your holiday was fantastic. Sorry for getting back to you so late! Last week was incredibly busy (I had six shows)! I got through it but was pretty wiped out. I am not playing Jack Divine's today because I have a private party. As most of you know, I do a lot of private shows during the summer. Bare with me.

2 Years Old and 99!

Yesterday afternoon at the Sunset Grille was one of the finest times for me, maybe ever, playing music. Lisa, Ed, Diane, my buddies Shawn and Steve...Great people. As the evening progressed a beautiful little button nosed boy named Joseph started dancing and dancing to my music. Everyone clapped and loved watching as this child just became part of the music! Then, Maybelle, a 99 year old great-grandmother, got up and, with some help, started dancing and clapping away too! From 2 to 99 the crowd watched in beautiful amazement as these two opened our eyes to what is important...You're NEVER too old to dance! There is never a time that we can't enjoy the small things in life as well as the larger ones. I looked out in the audience and watched people smile and clap. They elbowed one another to look at what was happening right in front of them. I'll never forget it!

This week I have five private shows! You can catch me at Jack Divine's on Chippewa on Thursday at 9:30! You'll be able to come to other shows next week for 4th of July weekend (is that next week already?).
